Prince George of Cambridge, the elder child and only son of Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge will attend a Christian School where he will learn “to be kind.”
The three-year-old prince will attend the mixed-sex day school in September, which costs about £6,000 a term, and focuses on the arts, sports and the importance of outdoor activities.
A spokesman for Kensington Palace said: “Their Royal Highnesses are delighted to have found a school where they are confident George will have a happy and successful start to his education.”
The decision means that, unlike his father and grandfather, Prince George will join a mixed-sex school rather than the all-boys environment traditionally favoured by the Royal family.
In a welcome note Headmaster Ben Thomas said: “Whilst we are proud of our record of senior school entrance and scholarship successes, we place a greater emphasis on a set of core values, which include kindness, courtesy, confidence, humility and learning to be givers, not takers.”
According to the school’s website, “We are a Christian school, open to children of all faiths. The most important school rule, which applies to every member of the school community, is to “Be Kind.”
