Letitia Wright is obviously making a name for herself. First, for her roles in the ground-breaking films like Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, and now for calling out the media that deliberately omitted her quotes about her strong Christian faith.
The British actress tweeted her disappointment by saying: “It’s super cute when journalists/interviewers for magazines leave out the massive part where I give God the glory for the success/ achievements in my life. Haha I still love you and God will still be praised.”
In another tweet, she said: “If its Gods will for you to have it. It will be yours. There’s no forcing anything in the kingdom. Let His will be done. That’s it. His grace is sufficient.”
Both tweets, all together have gathered more than 15,700 likes and 3,100 retweets as at the time Testify went to press, which shows strong support for her speaking up about her Christian faith.
This wasn’t the first time Wright would speak up about her faith. After winning the Bafta award, the Guyanese-born British actress said, “A few years ago I saw myself in a deep state of depression and I literally wanted to quit acting. The only thing that pulled me out of it was God, my belief, my faith and my family, and an email from Bafta asking me to become part of the Bafta Breakthrough Brits.”
The Black Panther star is a bold, faithful believer who is not shy or afraid to let anyone know what she believes. If only other artists would be enough to do likewise.
Hopefully, next time, the media would think carefully before omitting her quotes about gratitude to God.
